A NOTE from your host Guest house

My name is Lyndon Stinson and I moved to Nicaragua a few years ago from the United States after visiting this country and getting to know the people here. It is a beautiful country with incredible people. I built my dream home and bought a small Spanish School here in the capitol, Managua. I left my life behind in the States and took a huge chance. I am so glad that I did and I would strongly recommend that you check it out too!
I started renting rooms to students from the school a couple of years ago.

It also turned out to be a great experience meeting new people and I decided to open up the house to the public. Students/guests who’ve stayed at the house have come from virtually all parts of the world. So far we have had students come and stay here from countries including Canada, the United States, Switzerland, The Netherlands, England, Norway, Australia, Russia and Iran. It is a special kind of tourist that comes to Nicaragua. Nicaragua is really for the off-beat traveler. I guess I’m a bit off-beat myself.  I’ve tried to create a place where everyone is comfortable just sitting around relaxing at the pool, maybe having a cocktail in the evening, or just “vegging out”. The house is located in this great area that is close to everything but also in kind of a “retreat” setting. The set up is like a small hotel and is perfect. Come and go easily with public transportation just a few steps away and a full-time caretaker staff to let you in at any hour, you are on your own once you arrive to take in all that Nicaragua has to offer.

We are not formal here but the home is very clean, comfortable and affordable. The house and yard resemble a small resort, with swimming pool, cabana areas for relaxing and lots of lights in the trees at night. The atmosphere is tranquil and the house has a caretaker staff that lives on the premises and they’re more than happy to practice Spanish with you!
Drop me an email with any questions that you have. We are here and ready to help make you visit to Nicaragua a better one!

NICARAGUA & VIVA GUEST HOUSE

There are many reasons to come to Nicaragua. This country is rich in lakes and volcanos and the Nicaraguan people are some of the nicest you will ever meet.

In and around Managua you’ll find Volcan Masaya, the Isletas de Granada, the Nicaraguan National Palace, Loma Tiscapa, Mirador Catarinan and several different markets. There are so many things to do in this country. With the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other side, it is a unique place. Considered the safest country in Central America, Nicaragua has everything that Costa Rica has and at a better price. You can hike up one of the volcanos, take a canopy ride, surf the beach or take some Spanish classes at Viva Spanish School (a plug for our school).

Reasons to visit us at Viva Nicaragua Guest House include the fact that we are a cheaper alternative to a hotel or motel in Nicaragua, offering low-cost lodging and offering all that a budget hotel offers and more. Why stay at a hostel or hotel when you can stay at a bed and breakfast-style home with a beautiful swimming pool, air-conditioned rooms, hot water showers and more.

We await your reservation and your adventure in Nicaragua!

My accomodation in nicaragua...

While doing some volunteer work in Nicaragua, I stayed at Viva Guest House in Managua Nicaragua (actually located just outside Managua in Ticuantepe).  The work that I was doing was at the Chureca, the dump in Managua. While I was happy to be doing the volunteer work, I was so glad that I had a comfortable place to stay while in Nicaragua. The home has all of the comforts, which I really appreciated after being at the Chureca all day. I rented a room for $26 a day, took public transportation to and from Managua (about fifty cents a day), relaxed at night around the pool. The owner lives at the guest house and is really nice and helpful. A hostel works for some people but I really needed air conditioning and cable TV! I can rough it in the day if I can relax in comfort at night. The guest house is located in a serene setting surrounded by plantain and coconut trees. I told the owner that I would gladly write a review for Viva Guest House and would recommend it to anyone who would listen J
